Mountain sorrel grows 1' tall and is an erect perennial found in the northern hemisphere. It has leaves that are 1 1/2" long with many small green flowers. The fruit is a winged, simple, small fruit called an achene. Mountain sorrel is grown in rock gardens and is propagated by seeds. Its leaves are eaten in salads.
